The V.G. Jog Foundation Violin Scholarship

The V.G. Jog Foundation awards scholarships to intermediate and advanced violin students looking to develop vocal accompaniment skills (Sath sangat talim) and beginner or intermediate students to play violin in the V.G. Jog style (Violin vadan talim).

Each scholarship provides a stipend of Rs 5,000 each for the student and the teacher and will require (1) an initial audition, (2) six-monthly progress reporting by the teacher and (3) and annual evaluation of progress by the Foundation's Board of Examiners (BOE). Scholarships may be renewed upon satisfactory progress towards developing professional-level skills.

The 2025 V.G.Jog scholarship winners are, in alphabetical order of last names,

Souparna Ghosh,

Arkadyuti Haldar,

Oindri Mukhopadhyay.

All three awards are for sath sangat talim. Scholarships will be conferred at the Dhrupad Workshop at Daga Nikunj, Kolkata on Feb 1, 2025, starting at 11 am.
